Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket on its way from Warner

After giving the digibook treatment to Kubrick’s “A Clockwork Orange” and Dr. Strangelove, Warner are continuing with another of the director’s masterpieces – “Full Metal Jacket”. The 1987 movie examines the effect of military strategy plus the actual warfare itself on the Marines during their time in Vietnam. The film begins by showing the recruits at boot camp under the control of the strict Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (Lee Ermey), and ends by focusing on a single recruit – “Joker” (Matthew Modine) as war correspondent covering the Tet offensive for the US Army Stars & Stripes newspaper.
